      Deze nieuwsbrief verschijnt 1 keer per 3 weken: vóór de raad- en overlegvergadering met de agendapunten en ná de vergaderingen met een kort verslag.

       
     Kort verslag 

      van de raads- en overlegvergadering van 17 maart 2010:

      ·                        Plan van aanpak naar aanleiding van de explosie in NB 4.

      Het plan is nu opgedeeld in acties direct gerelateerd aan de explosie

      en in acties voor de veiligheid in het algemeen. 

      De personeelsgeleding, gesteund door de studentgeleding, stemt in 

      met dit nieuwe plan van aanpak.

      ·                        Evaluatie reorganisatie FWN 2006-2008

      De reorganisatie heeft het beoogde doel bereikt, n.l. het

      terugdringen van de negatieve reguliere reserve. In totaal is ruim

      M? 5 bezuinigd, zodat we eind 2010 waarschijnlijk weer positief

      uitkomen. We dienen te voorkomen dat de faculteit weer in

      financiële problemen komt. Het is wenselijk om een positieve

      financiële reserve aan te houden, om nieuw beleid mogelijk te

      maken.

      De faculteitsraad had enige opmerkingen aangaande de evaluatie van de reorganisatie FWN, b.v het aanstellen van nieuw personeel op plaatsen waar in de reorganisatie personeel is verdwenen, en de rol van de faculteitsraad. De procedure heeft (te) lang geduurd, maar dat is niet de schuld van de raad. Integendeel, de raad heeft een aantal onzorgvuldigheden kunnen rechtzetten. Nadien heeft het CvB een nieuwe reorganisatiecode vastgesteld waarin één en ander is verbeterd. De opmerkingen en vragen van de raad zullen per brief worden voorgelegd aan het faculteitsbestuur. De personeelsgeleding verzocht om een aangepaste versie waarover een positief advies kan worden gegeven.

      ·                        Onderwijsaangelegenheden

      De faculteitsraad had vragen en opmerkingen over de nieuwe start- en einddatum van het collegejaar volgens het BSA. Het CvB wenst te eindigen op 15 juli, maar het faculteitsbestuur wil niet verder gaan dan 22 juli en het BSA uiterlijk op 5 augustus verstrekken. De faculteitsraad heeft in de vorige overlegvergadering slechts een positief gevoelen geuit over de jaarindeling met als einddatum 29 juli. De raad acht de kwaliteit van het onderwijs zeer belangrijk en wil niet zomaar tijd 'inleveren' wat ten koste gaat van het onderwijs. De raad steunt het faculteitsbestuur en verzoekt om een nieuwe jaarindeling.

      ·                        Concept besluit tot wijziging van het faculteitsreglement, art. 24 : naamswijziging van de basiseenheid "Vaste Stof Chemie"  in  "Solid State Materials for Electronics"

      De faculteitsraad stemt in met deze wijziging van het faculteitsreglement art. 24.

      This newsletter appears once every three weeks: before the council meeting containing the agenda and afterwards with a short summary of the meeting
     Short summary

      of the council- and consultation meeting of 17th of March 2010: 

      ·                        Plan of action as a result of the explosion in NB 4

      This plan is divided in actions directly related to the explosion and in general safety actions. The staff members, supported by the student members, agree with this new plan.

      ·                        Evaluation of the reorganization FWN 2006-2008

      The reorganization has achieved the target to drive back the large negative financial reserve. In total more than M? 5 is saved. Probably at the end of the year 2010 we will have a positive reserve. New financial problems should be prevented. It's advisable to have a financial reserve to make new policies possible.

      The Faculty Council had a few remarks concerning the evaluation of the reorganization FWN, f.e. the appointment of new employees in groups where employees are gone in the reorganization. 

      Also about the role of the Faculty Council. The whole procedure has taken a (too) long time, but it's not the guilt of the Council. 

      On the contrary the Council got the possibility to correct some carelesses. Afterwards the Board of the University (CvB) has decided a new improved reorganization code. 

      The remarks of the Faculty Council will be send to the Faculty Board. The staff members asked to present a revised version to which the staff members can agree.

      ·                        Educational affairs

      The Faulty Council had some questions concerning the start and end date of the academic year. The CvB wishes to end the academic year on the 15th of July, but the Board of our Faculty wants not to go down before the 22nd of July and hand out the BSA not later than the 5th of August. The Faculty Council has presented a positive feeling in the previous consultation meeting regarding the end of the academic year on the 29th of July. The Council feels strongly that the high standard of education should be kept and does not wish to compromise on learning time.

      The Council request to see a new academic calendar before they give out a new positive feeling.  

       

      ·                        Proposed decision to change Educational affairs

      the faculty protocol, art. 24 : Changing the name of the department 'Vaste Stof Chemie" in "Solid State Materials for Electronics"

      The Faculty Council agrees with this proposal.
