INHOUD: Agenda 21/03/2012 & Kort verslag 08/02/2012 Deze nieuwsbrief verschijnt 1 keer per 3 weken: vóór de raad- en overleg-vergadering met de agendapunten en ná de vergaderingen met een kort verslag. CONTENT: Agenda 21/03/2012 & Short report 08/02/2012 | Agenda van de raads- en overlegvergadering van 21 maart 2012 · Notitie OBP (FR12-030, ter bespreking) · Profilering van de faculteit (FR12-057, ter advies) · Organisatieverandering onderwijsstructuur (FR12-058, ter bespreking) Kort verslag van de raads- en overlegvergadering van 08 februari 2012 · Strategie 2012-2016 FWN Vanuit de politiek wordt aan de universiteiten gevraagd zich te profileren. Het faculteitsbestuur heeft, met deze wens in het achterhoofd, met hulp van een “klankbordgroep”, en in samenspraak met de directeuren, dit najaar vier researchthema’s voor de faculteit FWN geformuleerd. Begin 2012 heeft het bestuur een concept profileringsdocument opgesteld met de titel “Strategy 2012-2016 FMNS”, waarin de missie van de faculteit, en haar ambities op het gebied van onderwijs, onderzoek, personeel & organisatie, en financiën staan verwoord. Dit stuk is besproken op de raadsvergadering van 8 februari. In de volgende raadsvergadering op 21 maart ligt een definitieve versie aan de raad voor ter advies. · Onderwijsorganisatieverandering De raad heeft het bestuur een brief gestuurd met daarin alle vragen en aandachtspunten met betrekking tot de organisatieverandering. Het streven van het bestuur was om de definitieve plannen in maart 2012 aan de raad ter instemming voor te leggen. De informatie uit onder meer de individuele gesprekken met de betrokken medewerkers is echter nog niet verwerkt. Naar verwachting zal een definitief stuk daarom nog niet klaar zijn voor de eerstvolgende raadsvergadering. · Financiële situatie De komende jaren worden fikse tekorten verwacht bij de faculteit. Intussen is bekend geworden dat het tekort voor 2011 1 miljoen Euro lager uitvalt dan verwacht. Het bestuur zoekt nog naar oplossingen, helaas moet er rekening gehouden worden met de mogelijkheid van een reorganisatie. In this light the faculty board, with assistance of a “klankbordgroep”, and in consultation with the scientific directors, has formulated a four-theme research profile to identify the faculty FMNS. In January 2012 the faculty board has written a profiling document (concept) with the title “Strategy 2012-2016 FMNS”, including the mission of the faculty, and her ambitions for education, research, personnel and organisation, and finance. This concept has been discussed with the faculty council on February 8th. The final version of the document will be on the agenda of the meeting on March 21st. The faculty council has been invited to give her advice. · Change of the organizational structure of education FMNS The faculty council has sent a letter to the faculty board containing all the questions and issues raised during the last council meeting on this organizational change. The aim of the Board was to present the final plans for approval to the council in March 2012. The information from, amongst other, the individual interviews with the involved staff is not yet processed however. Therefore the final version of the document will not be available as input for the next council meeting. · Financial Situation The faculty budgets for the coming years show serious deficits. In January it became clear that the deficit for 2011 was 1 million Euro’s less than expected. The faculty board is busy finding solutions to solve the financial situation, unfortunately reorganisation is one of the possible solutions.
