Kort verslag

van de overlegvergadering van 12 november 2009:

·            Mededeling van het faculteitsbestuur

Dit jaar zijn er ca.180 eerstejaars studenten LS&T, maar in de nieuwbouw voor LS&T is slechts plaats voor 125. Om deze reden heeft het bestuur een numerus fixus aangevraagd voor LS&T. De gevolgen hiervan voor Biologie en Farmacie zijn onduidelijk

·            Onderwijsaangelegenheden

Het honours college begint vorm te krijgen. De eerste studenten zijn per 1 september begonnen met hun opleiding.

·            Bestuurlijk overleg

-    De aanstelling van nieuwe bursalen is bevroren tot de

uitspraak van de rechtbank in het hoger beroep dat het CvB

heeft aangespannen over hun juridische status.

-       Het bestuur wil een medewerker aantrekken ten behoeve

van internationalisering. Het werk hiervoor is nu te veel

versnipperd.

-         Een deel van NB4 zal worden afgebroken en een deel zal

tot 2023 in functie blijven. Gebouwdeel 14 van NB4 wordt

binnenkort verbouwd tot onderwijsruimtes.

-         Het gasnet in NB4 is aan vervanging toe. Dit kan opgelost

worden met lokale vernieuwingen en voor een deel bij groot

onderhoud.

·            Financiering van arbo/milieucoördinatoren

De faculteitsraad legt zich neer bij het besluit van het faculteitsbestuur om de financiering van de armico´s bij de instituten onder te brengen.

·            Gezamenlijk jaarverslag proefdiervoorzieningen

De raad verzoekt om in het vervolg in het verslag onderscheid te maken tussen ‘opgeofferde’ en ‘niet opgeofferde' proefdieren. Dan is ook duidelijk dat de stijging van het aantal proefdieren voor een groot deel komt door het onderzoek

naar het gedrag van vogels.

Short summary

of the consultation meeting of 12 November 2009:

·            Announcements by the Board

At the current time there are about 180 new students for LS&T but the new building can only inhabit 125. For this reason the Board has asked for a ‘numerus fixus’. It's uncertain what are the consequences for Biology and Pharmacy

·            Educational affairs

The ‘honours college’ is started in September 2009.

·            Managerial consultation

-    The appointment of new bursals is frozen untill the legal

grounds for these appointments is clear by court.

-         The Board intents to recruit a new employee for supporting

the internationalization of the Faculty.

-         A part of NB4 will be demolished but most of it will keep its

function until 2023. A part of buildingblock 14 of NB4 will be

altered soon into classrooms.

-         The gas grid in NB4 has been examined and possible

problems have been fixed, but it is due for renewal. This can be

done with local modifications or partly by general maintenance.

·            Financing of "arbo/milieu coördinatoren"

De Faculty Council reconciles its self to the decision of the Faculty Board, concerning the financing of the armico’s by the institutes.

·            Complete annual report of the provision for laboratory animals

The Faculty Council request to make difference between ‘sacrificed’ and ‘not sacrificed’ animals in the next report. Then it will be clear that the increase of used animals is partly caused by the investigations to the behaviour of birds.
