Dr. Philip de Heer, Dutch Ambassador to China:
‘CHINA MATTERS (AGAIN)’
The economy of China is booming. China’s emergence has been
feared by some as a 'yellow danger'. Yet, it has also been hailed
by many as a great opportunity now that a market of over 1.3 billion
people is becoming available. China is an economic and political
world power that matters.
Against this backdrop, the Centre for Development Studies invited
Dr. Philip de Heer, Ambassador to the Dutch Embassy in China, to
share his views with us on these critical topics. Dr. De Heer is a
recognized China expert, with a PhD on Chinese Ming history.
After the lecture there will be ample opportunity for discussion.
Wednesday 2 February, 16:00-17:00
