FactSet Consultant Amsterdam

We are currently hiring for beginning of July 2009!

FactSet is a leading provider of online financial and economic
information and analytical tools to the financial investment community.
A Consultant works with FactSet clients to ensure that they are using
our products as intelligently and effectively as possible.

The Department

With an industry-leading reputation for service, our Consulting
Department provides the essential link between our clients and our
products. Consultants combine a thorough understanding of the FactSet
data and software applications with a strong knowledge of the financial
markets and methodologies, and excellent communication and problem
solving skills. This commitment to service has helped us maintain a
client retention rate of over 95%.

The Consulting group is the largest and fastest growing department in
Europe. Each FactSet client has a Consultant assigned to their account,
with one Consultant looking after several accounts. This allows the
Consultant to gain an in-depth knowledge of the organisation, the
individual investment professionals using the system, the investment
processes followed, and their daily workflows.

Responsibilities

Consultants offer support in a variety of ways, including:

Working on large scale projects that optimise our clients’ workflows;
Visiting clients in their offices to provide on-site consultation and
training;
Answering day to day client queries and providing creative solutions;
Training clients at their desks or in groups;
Managing relationships with a group of assigned clients.

Training and Development

Our Consulting programme starts with 5 weeks of intensive training in
London and continues thereafter over a few months, giving an insight
into our products, our clients and the financial markets. During this
time, Consultants work on different client projects and client support
calls, applying what they have learned to a variety of situations. At
the end of this initial period Consultants are assigned a portfolio of
clients, with whom they form a close professional relationship in order
to help them find solutions to meet their unique needs.

The chance to develop continues throughout an individual’s FactSet
career, with various opportunities to attend both business and personal
skills training, work on specialist assignments and gain professional
qualifications such as the CFA. Career opportunities are numerous, and
depend on each individual’s skills and interests.

We welcome ambitious, service oriented and enthusiastic team players
with proven ability to take initiative and find creative solutions.
Applicants must have a genuine interest in Finance, as well as the
desire to continually learn and develop in an ever-changing environment.

Specific requirements for the position of the Consultant are:
At least a good bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a finance, business,
mathematics or economics related discipline
Fluency in Dutch and English
Strong numeric, analytical and problem solving skills
A strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Exceptional communication skills
Enthusiasm, drive and a desire to excel in a client facing role
Service orientation with previous client facing experience a plus

Applications should be sent by email, with a formal cover letter and
current C.V. in English attached to Christina Schwarz / Senior
